Protecta EX Mortar - 10 And 20 Litre Tubs

Protecta EX Mortar is a dry white fire sealing compound specifically designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke through openings in fire-rated walls and floors. This premium fire seal solution is ideal for sealing through-penetrations in fire rated walls, doors and floors, including openings formed around building service penetrations.  This high performing compound is a dry white powder consisting of inorganic compounds and perlite. When mixed with water, the compounds form a highly thermally insulating fire sealing compound to prevent the spread of fire and smoke.  Once cured, Protecta EX Mortear, expands approximately 1% during curing, ensuring a tight seal around service penetrations. It is particularly effective for plastic pipes, air ventilation ducts, bundled cables, cable trays, cable racks, steel, copper and alupex.  This compound is also suitable for most surfaces, including concrete, metal, and plastic (such as alupex and leca). Protecta EX Mortar's advanced formulation allows it to maintain the acoustic design performance in walls and floors while providing excellent insulating fire protection. The mortar is easy to mix with water and can be sanded after curing to fit the application perfectly. Its hydraulic action during curing contributes to a robust and tight seal, preventing fire and smoke from spreading through openings in fire-rated walls and floors. This product is certified for use in most building materials and types of construction. However, it is recommended to use Protecta FR boards in conjunction with Protecta EX Mortar for enhanced fire performance. Priming is not necessary before application on most substrates, but metal surfaces in contact with the seal must be corrosion-protected.
