Description Reading Hardware Company Large Valence Pattern New Old Stock Push Plates “Japanned” old copper wash finish. 13 inches tall by 3 inches wide. I have 4 of these (2 pair) at the time of listing. This listing is for 1 pair of push plates. Not reproductions. These are new old stock that survived without ever being installed for over 100 years. It’s like your original owner picked these out in the catalog and they just arrived for you to install. In great condition. They do have some storage scuffs but if you have “japanned / old copper wash” finish hardware in your house right now you know this finish didn’t hold up well on any surfaces that were touched a lot (door knobs, key hole areas, push plates, etc.). The finish started wearing through after probably the first fifty years. It’s incredibly difficult to find japanned finish push plates in good condition. I chose not to over clean them and have left it up to the owner to determine how much character to leave (easier to take it off than put it back. �� ).
